February Koinonikos

Community Life

Community Life organizes church wide activities and fun events that include annual Diamondback games and other activities that are of interest to the entire church family.

In our congregation at Dayspring and in our surrounding community, there exist all kinds of families: two-parent families; single-parent families; couples, young and older, without children, blended families, multi-generational family groupings, and single-member families. Families of today organize themselves in different ways in order to provide the developmental nurturing and support of their members. Ministry with families is ministry with people, not configurations. Confronted with a complexity of challenging situations in a rapidly changing world, families need the presence and power of God in their lives.

Mission

To address the spiritual, educational and supportive interests and needs of all kinds of families. No matter what kind of family, may you receive love and acceptance, hope and healing, a sense of belonging and community with your Dayspring family.

Special Events and Family Activities

Throughout the year, we provide a variety of fun, exciting and family-oriented events and activities. From attending a Diamondbacks baseball game to playing on a team yourself, or from playing games with nursing home residents to dancing at a 50's Sock Hop, we try to meet the interests of a variety of families. For more info, watch the Koinonikos and church bulletin.

Dayspring Campouts

A big part of Community Life Ministries has been the Dayspring Campouts. The first one is the Annual Labor Day Campout in September. All include fresh mountain air, friendships old and new, worship, hiking, and plenty of relaxation. You are also encouraged to bring your tents or tent trailers if you like. The key element to keep in mind is: you don’t have to know how to camp...there are plenty of people who will be glad to help you learn about camping and show you how much fun it can be! If you like to be with people who love God, love to laugh, relax and have a good time, please consider joining us! You’ll have an experience to remember.

Dinner Groups

Dayspring has two worship services and two Sunday School hours. How do members meet new people or make new friends? Dinner Groups provide one of those support groups. Sign-ups occur in September each year and groups begin meeting in October.

If you are interested in participating in this activity please contact the Church office for more information.
