Part I of the Oratorio “Paulus” by Felix Mendelssohn
Performed by the Dayspring Chorale, Soloists and Orchestra on Sunday, April 7 at 7:00 pm

First performed in Dȕsseldorf, Germany in 1836, Part I of the oratorio dramatically depicts the conversion of Saul of Tarsus, to the apostle known as Paul. Mendelssohn, a newly converted Christian, follows Saul from the stoning of Stephen, through his encounter with the risen Christ on the road to Damascus, his blinding, baptism by Ananias, and ultimately his conversion. It is a magnificently beautiful telling of one of the Bible’s most familiar stories of redemption.

The concert is presented without charge. A freewill offering will be taken. Free professional child care is available during the concert.
